I actually have a few questions here for you gals...
Background: I will be meeting with one of the secretaries of a school district I hope to sub in. We're meeting and I'm told to bring in my official docs and poss get a pic taken for a school ID card.
1. If you were meeting someone for more of an interview to go over your paperwork-official docs for them to just verify (they have access to them online), what type of binder would you get to put them in? I don't believe she'll copy them.
2. Would you wear a suit or just a nice skirt, cardigan sort of thing?
3. What type of binder would you use for your 'official' portfolio? It's not going to be on a disk as of right now.
TIA!
Re: Portfolio or paperwork binder suggestions? and etc...
When I did my interview to sub, it was a group interview so my situation is a little different. But I took my docs in a filofax type of thing, but it was just a single sleeve and it had the string that you wrap around. Okay, so that probably doesn't make sense, but maybe it'll help.
As far as dress, I wore dress slacks, and a button up shirt with a sweater over it (it was November and chilly). Due to it being a group interview, I saw a ton of variety in dress. There were men there in a suit and tie (none of the ladies I saw wore a suit) and then some people came in jeans and a t-shirt.
I know I'm not much help, so sorry!
My portfolio is in a cloth covered binder my sister bought me when I was finishing grad school. I think that it is made specifically for that kind of purpose and wasn't cheap. (I'll try and take a picture today ...but right now I have a finally sleeping baby on my lap!). However, it has held up since 2005.
I'd bring my paperwork in a nice folder -- however, I have all that stuff in clear page protectors in my portfolio...so if you find something for your portfolio it can serve both purposes.
Yes, I'd dress professionally for all interactions and when subbing...I don't think you need a suit for dropping off paperwork/picture taking though.

What are you looking at?
Thanks! Just want to be fairly organized.
I am not liking any suits I try-except for the super $$ one, of course. Sigh.
