toy/book recommendations?
So...I have almost $100 for Amazon. I'd really like to get some new toys or books. I have spent weeks perusing and keep ending up with ideas, but have not bought anything. Recommendations? (And if it's a toy, I'd love for it to be wooden).
TIA!

Besides the classic books we are all about Sandra Boynton books. Barnyard dance is a favorite (it's got a cute rythym to it and it's fun) and I just got Happy Birthday Pooki for DD's upcoming b-day.
We got a few of these for her b-day too

and these are a bit older for him right now, but DH already bought one (for himself I believe!)

We have this, it's plastic, but it's green and it's all one surface so it's super easy to toss in the sink and clean. This goes to other people's houses so I cn clean it afterwards

Again, plastic but I love these balls.

$100 to shop at Amazon!! Yee-haw!!!
Well, despite that they are MIC, I do like the Melissa and Doug items.
I also really like Haba toys - these are NOT made in china!
If you need help spending, I'd be happy to!
I don't know what I would do with $100 to Amazon! I have wish lists for Eli and myself that are both a mile long!
Your little guy is too small for most of these things right now, but if you are looking ahead- Eli LOVES lift the big flap books right now. He has ones about Thomas, Elmo, Clifford, and John Deer tractors. He also loves his easel, play kitchen and train tables. Wooden Thomas trains and basic wooden blocks are a big hit too. You could also look at things for summer. We love our basic radio flyer wagon, little tykes climber/slide, reusable swim diaper and last summer baby float. Also, this set of 15 cars, trucks, etc have been a lasting hit and although they are plastic, they are great quality.
As for books, we also love Sandra Boynton. He definitely favors board books and some favorites are a boxed Thomas set, I Love Trains, Freight Train, Good Night Moon, Give a Mouse a Cookie, Chugga Chugga Choo Choo, Rufus Butler Seder's Scanamation books, Two at the Zoo...I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that come to mind.
Happy Shopping!
Wood bead maze! Owen got his when he was about 7 or 8 months old, and still likes it.

But, with summer coming, some outdoor stuff isn't a bad idea (swimsuit, sunblock, etc.) How about a splash pool? We have this one:

There are tons and tons of great books out there. Our newest favorite is "A Book of Sleep" by Il Sung Na -- gorgeous illustrations. Some other faves are Bear About Town, Freight Train, Mortimer, Very Hungry Caterpillar, A Good Day, School Bus, Brown Bear, and Heads. When he was younger, Owen loved the Peek-a-Boo lift-a-flap books like Peek-a-Boo Bathtime, Baby Faces Peek-a-Boo, etc. and the puppet books like Little Mouse. He also loved the Nina Laden books like "Grow Up" and "Peek a Who" -- they've even seen a resurgence lately. And of course, Boynton is always a winner.
What about kid music?
