How are your feet feeling?
My shoes yesterday rubbed the skin off the backs of both heels, so not awesome. All in a day's work to break in the shoes though.
T didn't want me to leave this morning. He wanted to be held and cried when I left.
It was the very first time he's done that.
Poor baby had such a rough morning, too. He fell and hit his head on the corner of his door. Bump and bruise popped up immediately.
Aww. Poor T. :-(
Do you have any moleskin or molefoam? You can cut it to fit inside the heel of your shoe, to help cushion them and prevent future rubbing issues. I have some flats that are practically lined with the stuff.
In the meantime, you can wear a blister cover (2nd Skin or Band-Aid brand are great) over the hot spots to provide some extra protection, too.

Funny story.
Daycare provider lives in the middle of a city. She posted on FB that 6 bucks were in her front yard this morning. Almost unbelievable considering where she lives (but I do believe her.)
Anyway, I asked her if Tennyson saw them and if he said "doooogie!", because he calls everything that walks a "doooogie". (My sister's rat is a "doogie", my mom's cat is a "dooogie"...you get the picture.)
She said "spot on! He is the one who noticed them! He kept screaming- dooogie... he's asleep now, too much excitement. lol"
That made me smile. That's my kid! Haha. I'm glad to hear he is ok after this morning.

We have patio pavers down in our back yard. I love the look of them and the previous owner who put them in did a great job and they are perfectly flat still.
We replaced a wood floor in our laundry room in our basement with concrete. I think the labor was about $200 and the concrete itself was $150. The area was about 12x12. The guy who did it was my cousin's husband so not sure if he gave us a deal or not. The concrete is certainly easy to maintain!
I worry about stones (and concrete for that matter) because we have really sandy soil. I worry that the pavers would eventually sink and become uneven. For the concrete, I'm worried about cracking.
My boss' husband owns a concrete business, so we thought about having him come out to give us an estimate on a side job (boss gave an OK, lol). He mostly does commercial, but is looking into doing residential for supplimental income. I guess commercial concrete isn't what is used to be, but people are really into stamped concrete patios and countertops right now. I don't think he wants to miss that boat.

You should definitely have him come out to get his opinion on your soil. It is nice to have someone you know you can trust give you a little guidance.
I think my life would be much easier if DH and I had relatively similar (or at least not polar opposite) travel/vacation styles. Argh!
We're going to Chicago for one night, so you think there wouldn't be much conflict. But we can't agree on what trains to take -- we're taking the South Shore line, just can't agree on the schedule. Nor can we agree how to spend our time there.
I'm biting my tongue though, because this getaway is more for him since I went to Savannah last month. So instead, I'm bitching to you guys.

Maybe I am too easy going (or maybe my H is). He usually leaves me in charge of the "how to get there" plans.
For Boston, I just booked the plane tickets and said "We're leaving at X time, make it work!"
Or when we go to Chicago, I just say "We need to leave here by X time to make it to the train station by X time."
But then once we get to Chicago, he usually chooses what we do. Which normally doesn't matter since I usually enjoy those things too. (Cubs game, bars, Millenium Park - now if he doesn't make time for me to do some shopping, we have problems.
)
Hope you guys figure it out all right. Annnnnnnnnnd now I really want to go to Chicago. ::sigh::
Unfortunately, I don't think either of us are that laid back and go with the flow. I'm probably as much to blame as he is.
I was seriously envious the other day, though, when you decided on a destination (Boston) and booked airfare within a matter of hours though. The decision/research/booking process takes us weeks if not months!
I'm not a Chicago shopping expert, partially because I'm overwhelmbed by all of the options. Can you recommend some good stores to check out? We're staying right off the Magnificent Mile.
About Boston - I had like 5 or 6 options for destinations, and none of them excited me until you said NH would be cool and gave me the idea to fly into Boston. When I heard Boston I got excited. It's a place we've casually mentioned wanting to go, but never got around to it. So that settled it. And since we're leaving in 3 weeks, I had to book it asap, right?
Hmmm...as for shopping, I usually just walk down the Magnificent Mile and stop in stores that interest me. I always go to H & M. We usually go into the Water Tower Place, but it seems to be dying out. And I always check out the Chicago sports themed stores to stock up on Bears and Cubs gear.
I think my husband is snooping through my Facebook account. ha ha!
He has never 'understand' Facebook - didn't see a point. A few times, I have left it open on the computer and he went on the computer and saw the open screen so he read what was on there. I have noticed the past few weeks when I say something about something I saw on FB, he say "oh, I saw that too." or mentions something one of our friends said on FB. I have a quick link to Facebook on the top of the menu bar, so I think he is clicking on that.
I don't mind. I actually think it is funny.
WOP - I'm no professional, but I think sandy soil might be better for pavers. The pros actually put a good layer of sand underneath to keep them even and in place.
