Re: Photo session outfit update

  • That looks good. What was wrong with the AE dress? I was going to check it out at the mall tomorrow.

  • I may have tried on a size too large, but the top part was just too blousy...made my b00bs look strangely shaped.

  • This is adorable!

What is the occasion for the photo session?

  • megs, my RTD photog is doing mini sessions -- like 15 minutes and 4 digital files, and I could use some new pro pics (I'm addicted to pro shots!), so I thought hey, why not. I always figured out next pro session would be when we had a dog, but we may be waiting awhile for that! :)

  • That's awesome! I wish my photogs did that. I was just realizing the other day how few photos I have of K and I since the wedding... and virtually none of both of us with the pooch.

  • Not to be mean or anything, but I don't think that this is a very flattering dress on you.  I think you need a different cut that doesn't puff out right under your chest.

    Who are you?

  • I really like the dress on you. And it doesn't look like it puffs out under the chest to me ...it looks like it comes in. While I do like the cream cardi in general, I've found that the color doesn't photograph all that great. Do you have any other color cardi options?

  • I own a lot of cardis but I'm stumped for a good color to pair with this. I'm going to work on styling it with different belts and cardis. And work on smoothing all that damn puffiness. :-/

  • I always forget this is a public message board until someone new pops in...hey, milly, introduce yourself!

I think you should go with a darker cardi with the light colored dress. I'm thinking of it from a photographic sense, and I think the contrast will look nice when captured on film. Too much beige/oatmeal-y, while nice in person, can sometimes be washed out on film.

I'd go with a nice chocolate brown cardi, especially if you have a cognac belt. I love mixing various shades of brown, and I think it would work well with that dress.

I forget too! I always feel like we're on our own secluded island. Milly is a former June 09er under a new SN -- just don't know who exactly she is.

I agree with your contrast theory, but I look like crap in brown sweaters. :-/

  • I am a former J9er. I check the board every once in awhile. I ended up making a new sn as I ended up getting divorced already.

I just think something a little more fitted in the waist would be more flattering. I agree with a darker cardi as well.

What color are the little flowers? Could you pull that in somehow? What about a dark or Kelly green? Or navy?

Sorry to hear about the divorce. You're still always welcome on the J'09 board. I was just surprised to see a strange name!

  • I may end up scrapping the dress anyway and put on a snowsuit instead. Weather is going to be chilly and lot less springy. :-/

The flowers are blue and red. I'll do a fashion show tomorrow maybe and whip up a collage and perhaps a poll!  lol

  • I like it but I think it would look better with a little bit longer cardigan. And for a color I would most likely go with navy.

Hehe. Think that will have to wait until tomorrow. The thought of putting on clothes right now and photographing it just seems like a lot of work. :-/
