Since you all were so helpful with picking fall/winter flowers (pansies) to go in the window box on DD"s playhouse, I figured I would pick your brains again. I'm looking for a non-toxic, preferably flowering plant to plant in the 2 window boxes. I am in zone 7/8, and the boxes get a good dose of sun during the day. SInce summers are pretty brutal here in Louisiana, a plant that can tolerate heat would also be helpful.
Re: Playhouse window box
wave petunias. There is another flower that is similar to petunia but smaller flower that begins with C but it is a trailing flower too. I've had better luck with the flower that begins with C in my containers than wave petunias but my neighbors boxes look beautiful with the wave petunias
edit: they are called calibrachoa
