NER - Yes, I really am this dumb
Well, that, and I have a cold so my "sniff test" isn't working properly.
How long does an opened carton of orange juice stay fresh (i.e. safe to drink) in the refrigerator? I opened a container about two days before I left for Ohio, so it's been open for about 10 days now. Safe to drink?
Re: NER - Yes, I really am this dumb
The only date I have is a "best buy" date, and that doesn't apply once you've opened it. Meaning that once you've opened something, you can't necessarily keep it to that date because of the danger of bacterial infiltration.
Thanks for the info, everyone. FI didn't do any shopping while I was gone, so OJ is the only beverage we have in the house right now (he didn't even fill up the Brita while I was gone). *sigh* Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to cause a trip to the ER for food poisoning.
MW,
FOUR times? ::shudder:: I've had it twice, and it really is tops on my list of worst things I've been through.
I was gonna say/guess - i bet it just starts to ferment - so you could tell no matter how bad your sniffer is. If its anything like sour milk, you aren't gonna have to "wait and see" when you take a sip - you'll probably have an involuntary reaction to not swallow!
