I got one of "those" questions yesterday
"So how much weight have you gained?"
My BIL's g/f asked me this yesterday in the presence of at least six of Rob's family members on his dad's side. I didn't even know what to say. I was shocked. I said something like "too much" or "plenty."
I don't understand why people think this is ok to ask just because a woman is pregnant. Would they ask this question of a woman who isn't pregnant? I highly doubt it.

Sorry Dani, that is the worst question. Next to do you plan to BF, and then if you say no, why not?
I always just answered that the doctor's were happy with my weight gain and move on to a different subject.

Sorry! I would bring it up with my friends, but I don't think I got the question from anyone else. Maybe she was impressed with how good you look! (because I think that bump looks great on you)
I know it's not right to answer impoliteness with more impoliteness, but wouldn't it be fun to say whatever you said and then ask her how much weight she's gained recently? I'd like to know what her response would be to that!
It's a $hitty question but I wondered this the moment I read your post.
That is a question that deserves a throat punch as the response.
