So quick question. Think back to when we all just got married and started getting teasers of our photographer's work.
Was it a positive thing if the photographer posted your teasers on a blog? And what about on a facebook page (if they had one). Was seeing your wedding photos posted for you to see online an exciting experience? Would there be a situation where you would not feel comfortable with this practice? Did any of you sign photo releases for the teaser images to posted on blogs/fb?
I'm asking because this is a common practice that I do, clients are always aware beforehand, I never post family photos, they're usually of the couple or details, and no one's expressed concern or gotten angry. Everyone's actually been overwhelmingly excited and positive about it. I'm wondering if I should incorporate a written photo release into my contract for the practice of posing teaser images?
Could use some "bride opinion". ![]()

Re: Question regarding wedding photography, could use opinion
Okay cool, I'll include it in the contract then. I've always kept it verbal up until now with no problems, but a written is helpful.
I don't think it could hurt to add the clause. It can't hurt to protect yourself. And if anyone really doesn't want their stuff on your blog, you can always negotiate that with them.
My photographer didn't give me any teaser pictures and I really wished he had...having a few to see before would've made the wait a lot easier to bare! Our TTD photog. put up one teaser and I loooved seeing it and didn't mind waiting for more.
Also, I found out a couple months ago that our wedding photog. posted one of our wedding photos on his website in his gallery/portfolio section. He'd edited it even more and I really wish he had told us bc I would've liked to see that version. So maybe if you edit things for your portfolio, let the client see those as well.
Our photographer didn't post pics in a public place. He used a private site and then sent me the passwords. He did a few teaser pics, and then the whole gallery.
I wouldn't have minded if he had posted them on FB or a blog, but I would have wanted to be made aware of that possibility. Everything that he did was discussed in our meeting and in the contract
Verbal or not, I'd protect myself and put it in the contract.
My Profile
I wish mine would've been posted on a blog. I wouldn't have liked it as much being posted to Facebook.
