Refrigerator
We are purchasing a new refrigerator for our new house and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations? The house has stainless appliances (GE). I want a french door refrigerator that is Energy Star. My DH wants the ice maker in the door. Any recs?

I just got recently got all new appliances, and I spent A LOT of time researching what I wanted before I bought. Because of the little kid/finger print factor, I wanted to do a stainless look/clean steel, and GE is the only brand that carries all 3 of their kitchen appliances in it, so that is who we went with (after I read all the postive reviews for GE and got feedback from other people). Another reason you may want to stick with GE is that we noticed from from brand to brand the Stainless finishes really can vary, so another brand may not match as well with your stove and dishwasher.
I really, really wanted a French Door refrigerator and I can not tell you how happy I am with it! It is awesome. It is so spacious! I can unload a weeks worth of groceries into it and still have tons of room, plus it makes so much more sense having the freezer on the bottom. (And the deli drawer is such a cool feature.) It is really quiet, and while it has only been a couple weeks, it really does seem like my produce lasts longer. If you have the room go with one 25.8 or larger! The smaller ones have so much less space and are actually often more expensive (and don't have the deli drawer).
We didn't want the water & ice in the door, since we already have an under the sink filtration system and it does eat up a little bit of refrigerator space, so I can't give any advice on that, but you will definitely have more options. Not many models are available without.
