Jeff Ruby's?

We are planning on going to dinner for my birthday at one of his restaurants.  I have only been to the one in Belterra, and I really liked it (it didnt seem so stuffy and we had a great corner, private booth).  DH wants to go to The Precinct bc its close.  Does it have the same feel as the Belterra location (& how do you dress, and do they also have similar booth seating)?

Re: Jeff Ruby's?

  • I've never been to the Belterra location, but the Precinct is fairly dressy.  You don't have to be in a dress by any means, but nice dress pants and a nice shirt are the norm there.  The last time we went (years ago) I think I wore a pair of nice dress pants and a short sleeved dress shirt w/ flats.  H wore dress pants & a polo shirt I believe.  I don't remember (but could be wrong) them having booths; it was more like one side of a booth and the other side was a chair, or just tables and chairs.  Have fun!!

  • I think Precinct is comparable to Belterra in coziness, you can always request a "cozy table" I love all Jeff Ruby restaurants, but Precinct is one of my top faves! Have fun!
  • I have not been to The Precinct. That will be the next JR we try. We did go to Carlos and Johhny's this weekend and I do recommend asking for a both. We were in the aisle and next to a kid that was bouncing around all night. Also got bumped by people leaving a few times. It was still a great meal, good time but when I am spending $200 on dinner I want the perfect setting. We don't spend this kind of $$$ every day so I want it perfect.  Also there were booths that stayed available the whole time we were there.

Thanks for the suggestion, we might go here instead.  Do you know if there are booths that are large (can seat 6 adults)?

  • Yes! Carlo & Johnny has beautiful huge booths that would definitely fit 6 adults. Make sure you let them know you want a booth when you make your reservation (the Emerald Room is amazing!). You'll love it. It's very, 1930's - 40's Sintara kind of place.
