Ahhh yes the Boars Head. I have friends that go all the way to stop and shop after market basket for the same reason. There is a deli/store on our street that sells boars head cold cuts.
We love Boars Head. We only live close to a S&S or Roche Bros. and both are ridiculously overpriced. I dream of having a Market Basket close by.
We have a local deli with Boars Head also, and MIL insist that theirs is better than S&S, because "they must get a better batch of meat." Haha
That's hilarious.
We don't have a car, so our only options are the Shaws or Star Market on our bus route, unless we get a zipcar. And I'm pretty sure the Shaws near us price gouges, because they are ridiculously expensive. I miss the prices at Hannafords in Quincy. The store/clientele, not so much, but we spent much less on groceries there.
the butcher near us does have Boar's Head, but we're not really one of those families who shop at all different stores for stuff. I did mention it to him the other day when he brought it up again how he wants Boars Head, but he was just "meh, I don't know".
