Do you have any experience with fleas?
My MIL was living with us until two weeks ago with SIL's dog. (l'll spare you the details of why we had the dog) Over the weekend, I noticed fleas on all three of kids. We have vaccuumed our entire house including moving every.single.piece of furniture. We can't really treat our house with chemicals because we have three kids that are all over the floor. Will the life cycle of a flea just end or do we need to treat the house? Also, do you know if there are natural ways to treat our house?
I am so beyond stressed I do not need this situation to add to our already extremely busy lives. TIA!!

When we got our puppy, she also came with fleas. We used frontline on her & the directions said just by putting it on her, the fleas would jump back on her & die. It takes a couple weeks for the fleas to completely disappear.
Make sure you wash all your bedding too. I don't know if this helped or not, but I used the sanitize button on the washing machine when washing the bedding.
We did wash EVERYTHING including all the kids bouncy seats and exersaucers, even P's stuffed animals.
We don't have a dog or cat. Even though I would love to have one, we don't have time take care of ourselves, nevermind an animal.
Hmmm... I don't have any other suggestions then. I'm sorry, what a PITA.
Just keep vacuuming & emptying out the vacuum cup (*** collector, whatever it's called).

It's fairly inexpensive. Shake it (I use an old parmesan cheese jar) all over your carpets/couches/fabrics. Let sit for 4 hours (or longer). Vacuum up. It kills the fleas.
I have used Borax and it worked wonders. GL and sorry for the added headache of fleas!

As always, thanks for all the helpful advice. I wish I could come around more often.
We will continue to wash, use borax on our carpets and furniture, and vacuum until we can't do it anymore. I figure can always call around for some all-natural pest control if we can't do it ourselves.
I have not had to deal with them but my parents have. Basically they were so bad that they had to spray poison throughout the house and around the house. I don't know specifically what they used but I'm sure home depot or lowes would have something.
When we were between buying and selling houses, we were staying with my brother whose house was infested with fleas... I sprinkled borax, brushed it in with a broom, then vacuumed and he hasn't had a problem since. Its actually a cheaper/safer alternative to putting flea medicine on your pets.
