Hey Gals

How're you doing?? Anything fun going on this weekend?? :)

We're just hanging out I think. This was our first week back from our cruise, so we just wanted to take it easy. :) I'll do all my normal stuff too... you know... the fun stuff. Groceries, cleaning, laundry. YAY!

Re: Hey Gals

  • Hey MrsO! I missed the update on your cruise on GP Moms. How'd it go? I'm not up to much this weekend. DH and I had a date night on Friday and saw Hall Pass, then we bought a new-to-us (i.e. used) minivan on Saturday and have been enjoying the weather outside today. A pretty relaxing weekend. I still need to do laundry and it's already 7:30 on Sunday.

  • The cruise was nice. It was relaxing more than anything as we went with our friends who are expecting a baby in July. She's 22 weeks and so we didn't do much on shore other than walk around, which is totally fine. On the boat we didn't party either because of that, which was even more fine to me lol. :)

Sounds like you had a nice weekend! What kind of van did you get? We're in the market (sort of) for a cross over or smaller SUV. We want to get a bigger car for me sometime soon. Yeah... I did my laundry, but none of it is folded yet lol!! GAH! I'll do laundry all day but I hate folding it and putting it away. :)

  • Wow your son is adorable! It's been a while since I've been on this board but it looks like J09 has been adding to their familes. Off I go to read some old posts and to see what everyone is up to.

Glad to hear the cruise was relaxing and you had a good time. I've always been scared of cruises because of my motion sickness (though I hear it's not bad since the boat is so big).

We got a 2006 Toyota Sienna. I really wanted an SUV at first but basically got talked out of it by several parents who said it was hard for their LOs to get in and out by themselves.

Totally hear you on the laundry. We sometimes have clean piles sit for days!

  • I love, love, love the new picture of Jake, MrsO! Such a cute little boy Smile

    Welcome back Clarisa!

Today officially begins my "Spring Break," which really means two days off of work. One campus I work at closes the center, so I don't have to go in, but I'm working on some projects at the other campus, so I'll be working there Tues/Weds and part of Thurs.

Our weekend was good. We had date night on Saturday, and on Sunday we went out to dinner with my mom and my two brothers. My one brother is in a long-distance relationship, and his girlfriend is in town for the week, so it was nice to see her.

The first cruise I went on I was affected by the motion a bit. I just took Bonine regularly after the first night and I was fine. This last time the first night was even worse, and I somehow managed to be ok with some Bonine in my system. By bad, I mean 10-13 foot swells. That means the boat is literally rocking back and forth. Our friend who was with us was SO sick. But he also refused the Bonine when I offered it to him, knowing he gets motion sick. He's an idiot. But he paid for it by vomiting / dry heaving for five straight hours.

Yeah... I don't want a big SUV. Just a small one, so I don't think they're much higher off the ground than a van. I'm thinking along the lines of a Rav4 or an Escape. :) It's been a journey trying to convince Ryan to go smaller on an SUV. He is flipping stubborn. I've heard the Siennas are good though. Well, it's a Toyota. Can't really go wrong. :)

Thank you!! :) It's my favorite picture of him from his one year old session.

That is awesome that you're on spring break! Lucky! It sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. :)
