QOTD Monday
When you read a book that's a mystery or has an ending you're excited to find out, do you ever skip to the last chapter and read it so you know what will happen?
(I ask this b/c I have a friend who does with this every book she reads. She says she enjoys the book more knowing what will happen)

I do this too. If it's getting redundant, I read just the dialog for awhile.
I confess: I am a spoiler whore to the core.
There's only two series that I won't do that with, and that's the Sookie Stackhouse books and The Songs of Ice and Fire. But that's only because I know that the ends will be good and it will be worth my time.
Every other book, I read the end first to see if it's any good. If it is, I read the rest.
I do the same thing with movies unless it's like, James Bond or something brainless. How do I know if I want to go see it if it's going to be crap?
My related confession: the DAY Deathly Hallows was published, I looked up the spoiler death list online.
Nope! I like keeping the ending of a book a surprise!
I just want to say, I don't feel like it ruins the enjoyment for me, because I know it's going to be good. I just experience the aha moment at a different point, as in, when I see that it's going to end up like that.
But I'm just really nosy, and that doesn't stop with books

The only book I ever felt tempted to do this with was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I really had to force myself not to look.
Other than that, I don't, although I do skim when things start to get boring.
I'll skim and/or if I'm getting bored, but I feel guilty if I don't go back and pick up where I had left off.
DH hates watching movies with me these days though. If I have my laptop near, I'm reading a spoiler for it while we're watching it. If it's based on a true story, I'm reading wiki and other articles to try and figure out what's true or not.
No way, I could never even fathom reading the end first. Sometimes I even get annoyed if the summary on the back cover gives away stuff that doesn't show up until halfway through the book. Sometimes if it's a really intense exciting part, my eyes will be tempted to skip ahead to the next page, but I try not to do that.
It's also really weird to me that many of you said you will skip boring parts. The thought is completely foreign to me. What if you miss something good? Or some important detail? Apparently I'm very by the book (lol) when it comes to reading.
