Do all newborns need to be held so much? I swear Owen spent way more time in the chair or Boppy than Ellie does. I held her for almost 6 hours straight yesterday, and right now she's refusing to sleep anywhere but on me. I don't know how I'm supposed to get anything done around here.
Re: Did I forget something?
I forgot how much they like to be held too (and how many diapers they go through!). I was adamant that Katie get used to sleeping in her crib from the day we brought her home, and it's done nothing - she still likes to be held and sleep upright. Today she slept in her bouncy seat, and we ALL finally had naps that coincided (thank GOD!). I finally resigned to let her sleep somewhere other than her crib and it saved my sanity. She loves the Moby wrap too, but despite how comfy it is there's only so much my back can take running after a toddler too.
It's not easy, and I have no solution other than I'm with you!!

Believe it or not, this does make me feel better.
Annie, it's funny, I just mentioned that to MH last night when I asked him if I was blocking it out. I do remember that table-pacing, as well as several middle-of-the-night sessions of just rocking him, trying to will him to sleep. I guess I just had it in my head that those were only the "bad" days, and that much of the time he slept willingly in the bouncy chair or Boppy -- that must have come later. She is only 1 month old, after all...I suppose I should cut her some slack. It's just hard doing anything with/for Owen with a baby barnacle!
Same here!!
