I have been out of work for OVER a year now. Any ideas besides the same old sending resumes out? How do I get a job? Even one that I might be interested in?

Ditto, especially networking. Join a professional organization that invites you to meet and greets and seminars for free so you can meet people with similar career fields.
Networking is HUGE. I've been in transition since December, and have had over 100 individual networking meetings, been to probably 15-20 networking events (which is often where I gather contacts to set up individual meetings). And I'm still looking. I've had four or five interviews and every single one of them came from the direct result of a contact I'd made in my networking, not a single one from a resume sent out blindly.
These days, resumes will rarely get you in. It's who you know. You have to be willing to come in the back door instead of the front and make sure you have allies to help you within companies and industries.
Good luck!
