Paint stains on HW floors?
Our house has all hardwood floors. In 2 of the bedrooms it looks like the previous owner took out the carpet, and carelessly painted the walls, probably thinking they would have the floors refinished. Well, that never happened. We have lived here for 2 years, and we can not afford to have the floors redone until DH is done with Physical Therapy school...in 2013.
The paint spots on the floor are really starting to drive me crazy! Does anyone have ANY ideas on how to remove the paint spots? There are no really big spots, just the normal dripping from painting carelessly, if that makes sense.
Thanks!
Re: Paint stains on HW floors?
Try to gently scrape them off with a scraper. Is the paint the wall color or white? if it's the primer, it might be more difficult to get it off. If it's latex paint on the walls, this will be easier. You might also want to try scrubbing with a sponge. Only use the scrubbing sponges made for bathrooms! You don't want to scrath the surface.
Paint doesn't adhere well on hardwood floors so it might take you some time but it will come off eventually without damaging your floors.
