I finally have an update to the whole schedule debacle. I asked my boss back in February if I could switch to a normal, day-side shift. I told him about the baby and some of my concerns with daycare, etc. He said he wasn't sure if it would work, but he would try.
Fast forward to today: We had a meeting and he told me they are switching me!!! I will work 9:00- 5:30 Monday through Friday. We are launching a new show at the end of April and I will be in charge of producing and anchoring it daily. It's more of a lifestyle/talk show kind of feel geared towards women. I'm so excited!
I had to take a small pay cut, but I will be able to pick LO up every night and be home by a decent hour. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and I can finally start planning for our future. Yay!!!!
