DH Vent

I know this is totally whiny, but please, indulge me. I just need to b!tch a little.

DH had to work yesterday afternoon for about 4-5 hours, so he didn't have to go into work today until 1. While he was working yesterday, I washed & put away dishes, cleaned our kitchen & bathroom, went for a run, did all of our laundry (including putting away my own), went to the grocery store, studied for a test at work & cooked dinner.... So it's not exactly like I was sitting at home on my rear eating bon-bons or out having loads of fun.

I asked him to do TWO THINGS before he went to work today:

1) Last night's dinner dishes

2) Put away his laundry

Dishes are done. Laundry is still in a pile on the couch. GAH! Angry

Re: DH Vent

  • I.fuuking.hate.that.

    Seriously.

Although I have had no reason to complain the last month and a half and I'm lucky he hasn't complained while I've been out at the pool and the beach not folding the laundry lol.  ETA:  Wow, I'm a huge hypocrite.

  • He just walked in the door & asked what the look on my face was for... I motioned towards the pile of laundry sitting next to me with my eyes.

He brought up the dishes he did. Apparently I'm supposed to give a reward for 50% completion. Confused

Ugh, I hated this.  XH would list off all the things he did instead of the few things I ASKED him to do.  It was so frustrating.  "Yes, Im so glad you went to the gym on your day off, but what about when I asked you to clean the kitchen?"

50% is an F. Ask any school teacher.

    That's incredibly frustrating.

  • Sounds like our husbands are related. I usually count on 50% when I give DH a list. It drives me freaking nuts. You have every right to be annoyed.

  • Thanks y'all! Yeah. He said he just didn't like the walking into me being mad at him over the laundry. I told him I didn't like walking into it not being done. Tough cookies, buddy.

  • I think this is a man thing in general.  So frustrating!  DH's thing is to wait til the last minute to do anything.  So, he either forgets stuff, or he's way behind.  Liiiike, when someone leaves work early (2pm) to head to New Orleans for a wedding....that's been planned for weeks.  Annnnd she gets home to him just getting out of the shower, not packed, and bathrooms not cleaned.  (we had people staying over to watch the pup and all I asked was clean the bathrooms!)
  • Yeah, sorry... in my book, you never get points for doing dishes. They have to be done, period. Every day.

I asked H to do them last night and he couldn't because the dishwasher was full.

  • Boo DH!  Sounds like my DH as well.  I asked him to empty the dishwasher one day and somehow he couldn't manage that which pissed me off since doesn't have a job right now and is home all day.  Granted, I know when he is home he is looking for a job/on the phone with people, etc.  But come on it takes 10 freaking minutes to unload a dishwasher.

Great excuse!  Does he use the excuse that he can't load the dishwasher b/c it won't be loaded the way I like it done?  My DH uses that excuse, which confuses me since I don't have a certain way the dishes are loaded in there just that they are in the dishwasher!
