I ran the St. Pat's 5K and shave a little over 3 minutes off my time from last year, making my new year's resolution a reality. YAY! ![]()
One other AWESOME thing to mention - I do radiation again in May - I start quarantine on May 9th and I'll know on May 12th if I have still have cancer. I have to do the same crappy diet again, starting April 11th and slowly come off my thyroid meds, in preparation for the radiation. So I called my endo, because unlike last time I will be working up to the day I go on quarantine, and my office is scheduling a very large party with lots of big-wigs for May 4th. JOY! I wanted to know if coming off the meds is:
a. Easier - You've been through it once and you know what to expect so it's not as bad the second time around.
b. The Same - You've been through it once and it's no different the second time around.
c. Harder - You've been through it once, your body knows what's coming, and it shuts down quicker.
They said EASIER!! YAY!!!!
Re: OK, I'll AW this weekend
This 100%! We'll all be thinking about you in May.
Ditto what cheeky said!
I hope that coming off the meds and the radiation go well in May. Great job on the run! That's awesome!
Congrats on your new record time! And what a relief to hear that things should be easier this time around. *whew*
Thoughts will be with you as you go through radiation. Keeping my fingers, toes, and anything else that can be crossed, crossed that there'll be NO CANCER on May 12!
