Re: Election Day Poll
They are open! Anyone in Duval that is registered to vote can vote. You can vote for mayor, sheriff, tax collector, property appraiser, city council at large, and then the city councilperson for your district.
I don't think I will vote for tax collector, etc, but I will absolutely be voting for mayor and sheriff. Figure we can't complain about the city at all if we don't vote for the person running it.
I get multiple phone calls a day on my work phone. I am voting for someone who did not annoy me with their calls.
I was trying to find this info. Thanks for telling me! I'm definitely voting for mayor then. I was sad for weeks thinking I couldn't vote in the primary.
Any good research sites on the candidates for the other positions?
http://www.news4jax.com/duval-county-elections/26820559/detail.html
The news4jax website has a list of all the candidates running for every position. It has their party, family, current occupation, political experience, education, the top 3 issues they want to work on, how they think they can help voters that the other candidates can't, and what they want to be remembered for accomplishing once their term is over. It also has a link to each candidates' campaign website.

Could you not switch your voter registration when you got your FL DL?
We're not switching. We still have our TN DLs, and want to remain active in our local politics (we plan on retiring back in TN).
