Maumee Lifestyles closed with no notice

WTF is up with Lifestyles.

I just paid my membership for the year too, I am starting to think FP is next.

  • I haven't been there in a while either, but for $50 a year, I always renew.    But it was weird, this time the FB locaion called me, I renewed there and then last week Maumee called me and wanted me to renew with them - odd.   I have never even been to the one in Maumee I even said to the girl, I already renewed at FP where I work out, why are you even calling me.

  • I got a letter from them today, but I had already read it on fb cause my friend worked in kids klub at maumee. I'm hoping I can get out of my contract cause now there isn't one close to me, not that maumee was but I would go there after work or on break, sometimes on the weekend.

The owner said on the news tonight they would let people out of their contracts if they had more than a 25 mile drive to get to the FP location, which I think is ridiculous.  If you can't keep your place open, then the patrons of that location should be able to get out of their contracts.  I heard one lady had just signed her contract at that location last week, and no one said anything.  Seems quite shady to me...

  • Not to defend Lifestyles because there is no defense for them, but most health clubs have that little clause and usually it's between 20 and 25 miles.

  • That stinks!  I'm not sure where I heard about that today (maybe facebook?) but I used to go to lifestyles in BG a few years ago before I started just doing everything on my own at home.  That's just so weird.  They're open one day and vacant the next?

Ditto this, for sure.   I'm surprised Lifestyles still exists at all.

I can't get out of mine cause I signed up at northwood. I called FP and asked and they said to call northwood so I did. Looks like I will be driving 45 mins to workout. It stinks too, but there was nothing they could do is what the manager told me

  • I joined the Northwood one and then there were some money problems (and I wasn't a fan of the place, I like Curves) and I read in the contract that if I canceled within 3 days I would get a full refund. So I canceled the next day. I had to wait so many days (I forget how many) and I called after those days and asked what was going on. They said they sent it to Corporate and they would be the ones sending me a refund. I'm still waiting for my refund.
