GARHGGG!

{i don't know what kind of noise that reads as, but it should read as frustration + amazement}

First, thank you all for your advice, suggestion, input on Psycho friend. I felt badly the next day for being so off-the-wall mad about her weird actions.... but now I'm not feeling so bad.

Not only did she ask me AGAIN about the job thing (to which I kindly replied that she misunderstood) but today she.... well, hold on, let me back up.

Last week, I had a meeting with a lady who was in from Lululemon's corporate office. They met with me because they're opening a new store here and my friends Meg & Mimi currently work at their Charlotte showroom. They suggested me to Lulu corporate chick, so she scheduled a meeting with me over yoga & coffee. We talked and she offered me a job as management with the new store.

I haven't yet decided if I want to leave working from home for this, but I do love Lulu... and that 60% employee discount would be fantastic.

Anyways. Psycho friend heard through a mutual friend that I would be working there.

She emailed me this evening to tell me that she submitted a resume and wanted to know if she could talk with me about a job there.

I could not make this crap up!

First of all, yay, you for the job offer, and at Lululemon, no less. Heck, you'll be getting MY resume for that discount, soon enough. :-)

Second, okay, so I'm clear, YOU didn't tell her about the job, she found out about from another source, and the solicited it from you after that? She's now at a new level of inappropriate.

If it were me (and i know it's not me), i'd get ready with the break up speech, but now, keep in mind, if she applies for a real job, and if she's determined to be qualified, you have to remember that you're not saying no on behalf of Lindsay, you're saying no on behalf of Lululemon. It's a different game.

So, before you take the job (if you decide to take the job), you should confront it. You might say that it surprised you to hear from her, since you hadn't thought to bring it up with her, but that the fact that thinks that it is appropriate to reach out to you before even accepting a job, that you hadn't even told her about, puts you in a very uncomfortable position. You can add (in some sort of guilt tripping kind of way) that you think that it's inappropriate that she feels that she should use your acquaintanceship as an opportunity to give favoritism towards her as an applicant, and to put you in a compromised position before you even take the job. And, from there, maybe you can launch into the break up speech...

But that's just me.

First of all, congratulations on the job offer!! That will be a tough decision to make, good luck.

Second, the crazy chick. I'm kind of torn with my opinion here. On one hand, I do think that her behavior is borderline stalkerish and beginning to get inappropriate. But, on the other hand, it sounds like she is really hurting for money. When a person is in that type of situation, they will do anything to try and fix it. I remember you mentioning something about her work ethic or something before, so she very obviously needs to figure some things out professionally in her life. It sounds like she's trying to create a "perfect" working situation for herself by working for/with a friend.

I agree with Kathy in that if the situation is now making you extremely uncomfortable, that you need to "break up" with her. Just let her know that you haven't accepted a position yet and that you aren't in the position to talk about employment.

Kathy, yes, you're correct. I'm really not sure how she found out about the job, only a few people know about it and I wasn't aware that she knew any of them.

Again, your advice is amazing. I'm going to compose a reply to her now and try to be done with it.

Some of the things that I mentioned that I had left out in the initial post add to the bizarre behavior from her. I completely my PiYo instructor certificate in October and she immediately asked me how she could sign up for the training. Shortly after that, she asked me how to go about becoming a Beachbody Coach, too. A few weeks later, I started doing more Yoga at a new place in the area... so she picked up Yoga as well. Hey, maybe I'll try eating Vegan for a while to see what that would be like. Next time she's at my house? OH! She's a Vegan now, too!

I just feel like she does everything that I do. I mean, everyone is absolutely entitled to do all of that, but I just hate the monkey see, monkey do aspect of this "friendship."

Once I found out that she applied to Lululemon because she heard that I would be working there was just the straw that broke the camels back. I'm breaking up with her.

I just elaborated some on why it's bothering me so much in the post above. I'm definitely going to have to break up with her. I hate that I let the situation stress me out this much - I don't think I've ever been faced with an awkward friendship like this before.

Well, let's start with "expensive". Roughly speaking, ~$52 for tanks, $42-$58 for bra tops, and $98 for pants.

Once you get past that, though, you'll find the clothes are:

a) extremely well made and excellent quality

b) last a very long time and (when well taken care of) do not fade quickly

c) provide a variety of levels of support for the chestal region. THey have about 7 different style of tanks, organized by support style (um, I get the "most supportive" one). Colors are great and they rotate inventory regularly.

d) free custom hemming for all pants. Great for short girls like me.

e) the pants make your assss look awesome. Even mine.

I'm sure others can give pro-Lululemon points, but those are mine.

Oh, also, their shopping bags are cute.

I would seriously love to work at lululemon. I am planning a shopping spree there the next time I'm up visiting the parents.

The only comment I have that hasn't been covered is that it's so strange that right after I hear about the drama (putting it extremely mildly) at the Lululemon in MD I hear you talking about it!

I've been dying to even just try on a pair of their pants to see what they'd do for my butt but alas there isn't one too local and I didn't want to buy online and not like them.

She is just weird. Sad in a way too that she is yearning for your friendship so badly, along with such a need for money. You need to do what is right for you, remember that. Good luck breaking up and let us know how it goes.

I'm way late to the party here. I couldn't help but immediately think of what just happened at the store in MD when I read this. Its eerie! Anyway, ditto everyone else. Time to put an end to this stalker behavior. Please let us know what happens.

Congratulations on the offer! As for crazycakes, yes break up with her, but I guess watch your back after - she sounds waaay off her rocker and there is no telling what else she'd do.
