I had my blood pressure checked again this morning. It was a little high on my left arm but she took it again on my right, and I was back in the normal range. My OB said nothing about home rest so I should go back to work for a little while. The family I work for is on vacation this week so I have the time to relax. The thing is, I started looking at my planner for the next few weeks. My time is packed with the baby shower, childbirth classes, baptism class and doctors appointments. Do you think going out of work after 35 weeks is too early? I still have a hard time putting my feet up for long periods of time at work because I'm chasing a toddler all day.

Re: Maternity Leave
How much leave do you get? I was out of work for 1 week before my DS arrived and I went crazy. I personally would want all the time possible with a little one in hand. I only get 6 weeks paid and could take 10 weeks additional unpaid. It was very hard to go back.
Maybe you could modify your hours?
My official maternity leave did not start until the week my daughter came but I was allowed to work from home from about 34-35 weeks on. I was due 8/2 and worked at home starting the week of July 4th but she came a week early. I was so glad I did it because the first day of the week i was home, it was 105 degrees outside. My feet were already swollen and I cannot have imagined doing my commute (to nyc) everyday as big as a house as I was. It was so nice to get up and stay in AC and walk to the dining room/living room to work.
But, i work for a small company and they were very supportive of me and my pregnancy. I hope yours is the same!
That's a good point! I think I'm sticking with it and going out at 35 weeks
i went into labor on my due dates - the first time i worked up to the date, but missed one day that week because it was end of july, raining, hot as hell, and i was so swollen that i couldn't get shoes on. the second time, i just wasn't feeling well and ended 4 days early. i was super bored for 4 days. there's only so much tv i can watch.
if you need to work to be paid, then try to hang in there.
if you can swing it being home and you'd be more comfortable/happy, then do that.
I went out a week before my due date. My plan was to work until my due date but when Mj was breech I opted to have a little extra time. however Mj had other plans and I went into labor on my last day of work..
I didn't give birth until 40w 3d...so if I had stopped working at 35 weeks I would have gone CRAZY. IMO...if you can hang in there at work...I would stay until at least 38 weeks. That's when I stopped working and only 2 weeks at home just waiting to go into labor sucked big time.
Cloey went into labor at 36 weeks which is not common and unlikely to happen to you. So don't stop working at 35 weeks based on her experience.
With that all said, I know you don't have a "desk" job. Running around after kids all day isn't easy, so do what you physically think you can handle. If I were you I would take things week by week if you can since you may have some flexibility.
