I am STILL wrecked TODAY! I loved it!
Re: Big Love! (spoilers)
I was just going to post something, glad you beat me to it! I was absolutely SHOCKED...really, I had a feeling he was going to be killed this season, and when it hadn't happened yet I figured they would go a different route. As soon as I saw Carl walking toward him, I knew something bad was going to happen (actually, I was totally waiting for the wives to get in a car accident during their little freeway ride in the Mini Cooper...but it didn't happen).
I think it was a great ending. Someone on FB said it best, there is no way they could have ended it any other way because a trial would have been drawn out and for him to take a plea deal for rape is not his style (he said it himself). I'm super sad this show is over, I loved it!! Now I want to go back and watch the first couple seasons cuz I came in a little late in the game.
i thought it was great, i am so sad that bill died. i mean, REALLY SAD, so much it surprises me. still totally bummed. i loved that the marriage was still intact at the end, that margene was spreading her wings w/out having to leave, that barb was a priesthood holder, that nikki was still nikki but was more emotional. i think that's the grace that bill received, that he was talking about with ben, and what he was writing before he got shot. i guess what i really loved that was they were all finding a way to stay in the marriage and be true to themselves.
i loved when bill lost it over the car because for him it was a symbol of his & barb's marriage before. LOVED the "i don't have an ounce of the milk of human kindness" exchange between barb and nikki, and how barb insisted on giving her a hug. i once said to dh and have always thought that the wives had deeper, more complex, more intimate relationships with one another than with bill, and i think the ending acknowledged/showed that.
i am really bummed its over. i will miss the henriksons.
I thought it was one of the best series finales I have ever seen. I loved how ALMOST everything was wrapped up, but not quite.
I knew someone was going to die. In fact, about a minute before Carl appeared, I told DH that I was exhausted from being tense the whole darn episode! Did you notice that during the wives' drive that the music sounded like screeching tires? I keep mentally urging Barb to keep her eyes on the road!!
(Also, once they brought out the plate of oranges and Bill did his Don Corleone impression, I knew someone was a goner. That's TOTALLY an homage to the Godfather series, where oranges portend death!)
I watched the two featurettes this morning and almost started crying again at work. Seriously, that dang episode broke me down!
And it was sweet to see that Ben and Heather got married. I was so glad!
Okay, hi, totally just lurking here, since i just moved from CA to MI... but saw the Big Love post and had to jump in!
I AM SO SAD THIS SHOW IS OVER!!!!!!! WAAAAH!
And how did I miss that Ben and Heather got married? Were there rings or did they say something?
I need to go back and watch it again (thank G.A.W.D it's DVR'ed)!
I also second the PP that I want to go back and watch previous seasons again (even though I have seen them all).
