childproofing cabinets, drawers, etc.

What cabinet & drawer locks, latches, etc. have you found that work well and are easy enough to install?

Re: childproofing cabinets, drawers, etc.

  • Most of our cabinets and drawers are the finger touch/push down variety.  Any cabinets with pulls that are in pairs/next to each other, we have the U shaped "zip tie" locks.  They're fairly easy to use, and install was easy as well.  Power drill with short screws, or just put them on.  For doors, we have the Safety First door locks, that are 2 pieces.  They can be a pain to get off, but they stay and Will can't open them.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Our daycare has these locks that require a magnet to release them. I dont plan on using them on everything but it will be awesome on the cabinet that has the garbage in it, Im more excited its something my dogs wont be able to figure out!
