I voted for the squares. I like the idea of the circles, but I think maybe I'd like them better if they were smaller? Something about the size relative to the square size makes them seem too distracting... the effect is kind of busy to me. On the other hand, the squares is pattern is a little plain, so I kind of want something to jazz it up a little. That's why I'm thinking maybe smaller circles might work? Something to break up the squares, but in an "accenting" way, and not a distracting way.
Does that make sense?
I'm chiming in late, but I like it without the circles. It seems a little too 'busy' with the circles and squares.
