Do you like your bamboo floors? That is what we are planning on putting throughout our whole house (minus the bedrooms) in a couple months.

  • *butting in*

We saw bamboo flooring in a house when we were house hunting and were very struck by it, so we put it throughout the major parts of our house including the master bedroom and we love it. It's bright and has a lot of character.

  • Thanks DP!

  • I love, love, love my bamboo floors. We have the dark (java) bamboo and it's beautiful. We went with the wide planks (they're about 8" wide). I have pics on fb if you want to check them out.

  • I'm a huge fan of bamboo flooring too.  Yes
  • Every time I see it I fall in love with it a little more. I have no idea what it's like to live with but it certainly looks beautiful.

It's super easy to live with. We have Taragren (the brand) stranded bamboo and it's harder than most hard woods. H is super paranoid so we put felt pads under the couch, bed, tv, etc so that if something is moved it's not going to scratch. The likelihood of it scratching with out a sharp point going into the wood is very little. The maintaince is easy, you can use special cleaners (Bona is a good brand) or just water like I do.

Getting rid of the carpet (we have no carpet in our house now) was the best thing we ever did. H has severe allergies and it's like night and day since the carpet has been gone.
