help me with shoes please!

I may cave and get into the legging look-- or until maternity pants fit me better. Right now, I feel like I need suspenders if I wear the pants I have -- my regular work pants are ok but they will probably not be shortly. I have absolutely no idea what type of shoes you wear with leggings. For work, I need to be dressed relatively professionally. I walk a lot for my job (hospital social worker) and cannot really wear flip-flops or open toed shoes (some are ok, but if they make the flip-flop noise, I get yelled at).

I have a hard time with flats but I think that's because I never wear them... if I could find a comfortable pair, I might be ok-- I just am not a shoe person! Any suggestions? (I also have flippers for feet.... size 10 1/2 to 11)

Thanks!

Re: help me with shoes please!

  • What about flat, tall boots? They look cute w/ leggings, skirts, dresses, and can be really comfy. I have pairs from Steve Madden, and Nine West. I've found if the zipper is in the back, or if there is some stretch to them they fit better and are more comfortable.

I love my tory burch flats, but they are an investment. I have a pair from Jessica Simpson that are comfy, also ME TOO, doesn't nine west do a cloud 9?

I would suggest going to a department store and have someone help you, tell them what you want, you will be wearing these shoes for the next 6ish months and comfort will be key! Especially since you are on your feet a lot of the day. You can be cute, stylish and comfortable all at the same time!

I'd settle for comfortable! I doubt I'll pull off the other two Smile  I just hate shoe shopping... they don't have much in the big foot department!

  • You can totally pull off the other two, my dress twin!!

I hear you on the shoe issues, I have little feet (6.5) and there are never any good ones in the sale rack!  I can ask my friend whose 3 weeks from eviction date for her LO she's a 9 or 9.5 in shoes.

THESE are the ones I have, in white, brown, and black.

I also think THESE and THESE are super cute.

I should probably mention that we have an outlet here in Pittsburgh, so I don't normally pay the 50-75+ for the shoes.  If you find something you like I'd be happy to go out and scout in the area for you.

  • I second Clarks.  B's aunt who has back problems recommended them to me when I was pregnant and having issues, and I live in them now!  I was teaching for hours at a time and on my feet all day, and I was so comfortable.  Worth every penny.

  • Chris has clark's loafers she loves. I have a pair of Born ballet flats that are awesome and would be good with what you described.
  • I am in agreement when it comes to Clarks and Privo. I also love my merrells. They are on the pricy side but super comfy! The ones I have are similar to these.
