I know most of you are not in the Portland area, but I just found out that David Sedaris is going to be at the Merrill Auditorium in April - I'm so excited, but it's kind of pricey, so DH and I going back and forth on whether or not to buy tickets - they range from $52-72. Have any of you seen him live?
OMG...in the process of double-checking the ticket prices, I just saw that Jerry Seinfeld will be there in June - I am an embarrassingly huge Seinfeld fan and am now thinking of swapping out $52 David Sedaris tickets for $56 Jerry tickets...
Re: David Sedaris fans...
Ohhh I may have to look into this!
DH and I were just looking at the Seinfeld event too...he is a HUGE fan

I took Seth to see David Sedaris at Merrill a couple years ago. To be honest...I wasn't super impressed. There were definitely some funny moments but by intermission I wanted to go have a cocktail.
I think I expected him to do more off the top of his head stuff and he read at a podium instead.
So I suppose I was disappointed because I had set an expectation.
I LOVE David Sedaris' books!! I'm kind of glad to hear he wasn't so great in person, because there is no way I could swing that much for a ticket to go see him. Now I don't feel so bad!
Oh, that's disappointing to hear, Shuga! I guess that means I'll be dropping my dollars on Jerry. Tickets go on sale Friday - I can't wait.
I also LOVE Jim Gaffigan - I saw him live once and I laughed out the loud the entire time, even though he basically did his Beyond the Pale show, which I have seen on Comedy Central a million times. I would pay to see him again in a heartbeat.
That would be awesome if Amy was touring with him. She's awesome!
