Is it ok around here to call 911 to make sure the correct address pops up and to ask what the approximate response time is and possibly which station they will be coming from? I know every time people in my hometown moved they did this to make sure everything was correct, but I am not sure if that is ok to do around here. Heck, growing up my parents were the EMT's, so I never had to worry about it...
Has anyone done this?
Re: Ambulance response times
Don't they ask if it's an emergency?
you could call the non-emergency # for the police, Ankeny police is differnt than DSM, so I don't have the #.
I would call the non-emergency police number, not 911.
I've never heard of doing that before though.

I would also talk to someone on the non-emergency line. They should be able to answer your questions. My cousin is right up the street from us and when they called on her boyfriend they were there within 2 minutes tops.
