I was talking to one of my closest friends last night and mentioned that at my 14 week appt I was down a pound from my 10 week one. I love my friend but her response was "well, with your BMI you aren't supposed to gain very much weight at all".
Yes friend. I know you are a nutritionist, but please stop reminding me I'm overweight! I wanted to reach through the phone and smack her. (oh, and she's pregnant too... but umm, a size 00... so grrr).
Re: Oh friend
UGH!
I abhore, loathe, detest, hate the BMI. It was invented by an insurance company-- not a doctor! It's bunk! And it's not science!
Every time I hear somebody talk about a BMI, my butt clenches up and I want to scream. I certainly wouldn't listen to the advice of anyone who bases their assessment of my health on a non-scientific, non-medical formula...
She needs a throat-punch. STAT.
throat punch is exactly what I was thinking.
Oh my GAWD. BMI is total a$$crap.
Second, is she off her rocker to say that to you!?!?!
Girl, feed your child, feed yourself, eff everyone else.
Great minds think alike!!!

I love this! I can't believe your friend said that!
