Time to get "spring" pretty!
So...it's been about a year, and I am dying to update my "look", especially in time for our anniversary.
Usually in warmer months, I just go with a bronzing powder dusted on my face and very little else foundation-wise (here in MD, the humidity is crazy! It's suicide for any kind of foundation)...but I am on the hunt for some pretty eye/lip colors/mascaras...what brands are you guys loving these days??

For mascara I am addicted to Maybeline's purple tube called Falsies or something like that

Thank you ladies! I'm checking out the blog now, Rach!
@Mandah - I have been hearing about BE for a while...does it really give your skin an "air brushed" look with no cakey-ness?

I'm newly obsessed w/ this mascara!!
Its a purple tube and its great!
I also bought one of their 4 palate eye shadows that I love they have a few similar ones but its great for when I don't want to go all out but when I want a little something!
Not to butt in, but I've been a BE addict for a few years now. I've not found any other mineral makeup that makes my skin as great as BE does! I have combo/oily skin and with other stuff, I always end up with a sheen on my face by the end of the day....not so with BE! My skin looks flawless and I've been told several times how beautiful my skin looks when I've worn it. It's a little pricey, but it lasts awhile (a jar of foundation lasts me about 2-3 months) and is well worth the money! If you are interested in trying it, they have getting started kits where you get 2 shades of foundation, bronzer (called Warmth) and mineral veil (which sets your makeup and gives you the flawless look). I think you also get 2 brushes. I know Sephora & Ulta sell them and QVC always has BE stuff on special.

Not at all! Butt on in, Linds!! I really keep hearing this and I've often thought that it had to be "too good to be true"...ok...I'm going to bite the bullet and give it a go...there is a BE store in a local mall - I'll go this weekend and check it out - I'm getting excited :-)) And I loooove the mascara suggestions! My little stubby girls need all the help they can get
I had also heard amazing things HOWEVER DH bought me a gift card and I tried it and I don't love it so far. I didn't think it provided enough coverage for my taste. However for someone who didn't wear much make-up this is probably the perfect amount of coverage. So in conclusion I think it depends on what your coverage expectations are!
I have also been a BE addict for a little over a year now. I used to have the coverage problems, but once I figured out that I could put more on the brush, doing it exactly how they say, it covers a lot better, and it still doesn't get cakey at all. May I also suggest that you get the tinted Mineral Veil as opposed to the plain one. I also have their eye shadows. I'm addicted to those as well. For eyeliner, I love Maybelline Color Stay liquid eye pen in black. The mascara I'm using right now is Revlon Grow Luscious, but I'm always switching up mascaras. I also like Cover Girl Lip Stain for lips. It really is just like a marker (make sure you shake it before each use) and then just use chapstick on top of it.
I also use the Bare Minerals foundation and mineral veil for my foundation. Not too shabby seeing as we also have hella humidity here in Michigan during the summer!
Mascara, I don't usually have a preference but I've taken a liking to the LORAC lotsa lash fiber this time around and may continue to use that. I bought it at Ulta and got a free sample of the LORAC couture shine lip gloss and I'm really diggin' that too.
I'll usually get any brand of eyeliner or eye shadow as well but this time I splurged (on black Friday) on the 5-color palette from Dior.....since I don't wear make up every day, it'll last me forever so I didn't complain about spending the $$ on it, but the rest of my shadows & liners are currently the Ulta brand.
I love having an Ulta store right around the corner from work!
Yeah, it can add up but it definitely is worth it!
My skin hates me, I still break out like a 7th grade boy with a chocolate addiction, usually around AF time, and if you stood on my face you'd fall into one of my pores and get lost cuz they're sofa-king big.
I always loved to use Clinique's pore minimizer liquid foundation but the SOB's discontinued it.
Since then I've definitely been pleased with the BE foundation and mineral veil, and with the primer it helps a lot with pore minimizing.
I'm a BE addict too! Been using it for a couple years now. I have pretty bad skin, especially since I went off BC, and find the coverage to be great. In addition to the foundation I love the all over face colors - clear radiance and pure radiance are my favorites. They give my skin a youthful, healthy glow without looking shiny.
I just started wearing mascara more regularly. I have long eyelashes naturally so I never felt the need, but they have thinned out as I've gotten older. I don't like the mascara I just bought at Sephora so I'll have to try out the Cover Girl or Maybelline ones.
