I've got a Hitachi Magic Wand, and I love it! It's one that plugs into the wall, and it's a little large so depending on what position I'm in, or H is in, it can be a little awkward. But there's no issue w/batteries running out in the middle of using it (which has happened to me a couple times) and they make lots of fun attachments for them.
The other kind that I've really liked are the little bullet-shaped ones with different speed/pulse settings. Most of them have a cord attached to a little remote-type thing, so you don't have to actually keep your hand down there if you don't want to. The size is nice because you can use it when there are other things going on and it usually doesn't get in the way. I haven't had one that's lasted much longer than a couple years, but most of them aren't too expensive, so that's not a huge deal.
The only thing we use is the little bullet ones. They are amazing, I love them!! I am too nervous to try anything else! Good luck! Let us know what you find out
