DH had the motorcycles delivered from storage last week. He was anticipating being able to ride soon. We have a 1 stall garage that's 1.5x the depth of a normal garage. So we played 'rearrange the garage' this morning with the 2 bikes, my SUV, the garbage/recycling containers and other misc things to get the snowblower back out.
My 20 minute commute was over an hour. Highway 10 in the north metro wasn't plowed. And because of the ice from yesterday it was like driving on a cheese grater the whole way. Every once and a while I'd hit a rut that would force me partially into the next lane of traffic.
I HATE WINTER. I believe that I have had enough of it this year and would like Spring now.

Re: Winter sucks.
Judging
That made me laugh.
Our 30 minute drive took us an hour. I honestly think this morning's commute was our worst commute yet, for the winter. I hope it's over.
Mother Nature is really confused.
Although, I'm appreciative of the cold temps. They're buying us a little more time in regards to flooding. I found out yesterday our flood insurance isn't effective unil the 8th of April. I'm sure we'll be fine, we bought it for peace of mind more than anything. But, if anything happens in the next 16 days... I'm terrified to think about it.

Oh no! How far did you have to walk?
On another note, how is everyone doing now that you're back to work?
My 7 mile commute, usually about 10-15 mintues, took over an hour this morning. I'm not a very happy camper. I'm sick of the cold, the snow, the ice. The white isn't even pretty anymore. Usually I think the white covering everything is really pretty (from inside, when I don't have to go anywhere). Not so much at this point. I need some pretty greens, colorful flowers, trees blooming.
I'm not laughing, Mother Nature.
My 25 min commute took me an hour and 45 mins. I left at 7 thinking I'd for sure get to work by 8. Ha what a joke. I don't think I went over 10 mph my entire drive.
H and I have been talking about relocating and this weather is making it easy not to stay another winter.
This is my first year having a spring break and this is what I get. We normally take vacation time and travel somewhere tropical in March, but not this year because we are being financially responsible. Screw that!
Does anyone feel sorry for me?
I figured we would get one more storm but not like this. Usually the March snowstorm melts away as quick as it comes, but with this thick, heavy snow we are getting that might not be the case.
My commute to work took me 2 hours and 20 minutes today. On top of that DH was supposed to go get our taxes done today and the lady cancelled. We have been waiting 3 weeks to get them done! ***Shakes fist at mother nature***
My neighbor got stuck in the alley. I decided to pull my car back in the garage and work from home for a few hours. I NEED to go in, but if my neighbor got stuck, then I'm waiting for the plows and the salt to work a little bit.
And I'm ready for flip flop weather.
my read shelf:
Before when it snowed (during actual winter) and we were all, "Boo, it's snowing" it felt like that was more like "Haha, snow, we live in Minnesota so we have to deal...bummer." But today it feels more like, "@$*(&@(*&$ SNOW @*$&@(&*$ @*$&*@&$ #$&*(@$*" Real actual anger towards the snow. That's certainly how I feel. It's just ridiculous.
My boss left her house at 5:15 a.m. and didn't get to the office until 8:15!!!!!! THREE HOURS. Her drive is normally 20 minutes.
I feel sorry for you! This is the first year in at least 9 years that I haven't gone somewhere warm in Jan/Feb. Of course it had to be the worst winter in a long time.
Being financially responsible and trying to save for (supposedly) more important things really screws life up, doesn't it?
