Baby Bargains 2011
I just got the 2011 edition in the mail-- it was released this week. If anyone needs any updated info, let me know and I'll look it up! It's pretty cool!

I thought that book was great except for one thing -- that book told me I needed a toilet lid lock. I bought one. It's still sitting in my bedroom closet because I never installed it. When we wanted to keep DD out of the toilet, we put a doorknob cover on the knob and shut the bathroom door. Now it's really not necessary as I'm hoping DD will eventually be potty trained and we want her to be able to use the toilet.
If anyone here feels a compelling need to have a toilet lid lock, I'll give you mine!
This was another tip that didn't work for me. BB said to skip newborn clothes since most babies won't need them if they are born average size. Ben was 7lbs when he was born and went down to 6lbs 2oz by the time we left the hospital. I had to send my mother out the day after he was born to get sleep n plays and she thought that 0-3 months was newborn, so it was a big inconvenience. I've told people to buy a few newborn things and just keep the tags on so they can be returned. The other thing was that BB recommended the Graco Comfortsport convertible seat and I wish I had skipped that one because Ben outgrew it by the time he was 2. Otherwise, I pretty much agreed with everything.
