Ankeny - Daycare Center

For those of you that don't know - my company closed it's Midwest location in July and I have been fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my kiddos since then. Well, the time has come that I need to go back to work. I've been approached with a good opportunity - so am therefore looking for daycare center recommendations in Ankeny. I'd also be appreciative of any you'd feel are ones to avoid. Thanks so much!

Re: Ankeny - Daycare Center

  • Apple Tree through and through! I loved everything about it there when Ella went. The teachers are great, it is clean....I knew as soon as I walked in the door for my tour it was the place for us! It is pricey, but it would be where I would bring my kids if I ever needed to look into that again.
  • I would avoid the one on White Birch Circle next to the car wash (right off State)  I don't recall the name of it.  I went there once to pick up a child for therapy at my office.  They didn't ask for my name, to see an ID or anything.  I easily walked out with a child that had never even met me before.  Scary!

  • We take our DD to Little Endeavors by Fareway on Oralabor Rd. It has been wonderful and she loves it! We love the people that take care of her. I agree with pp about the center on White Burch Circle - I can't remeber what it is called either but they have a couple centers. We also looked at a couple other places around Ankeny last summer - we really liked Ankeny Christian Church's daycare, north of John Deere, but it was out of the way so we went with L.E.'s.

    good luck!

I know December has personal experience there & I've only visited, but I had a terrific impression of the Ankeny AT, too.  They gave me a tour & talked to me even though I showed up right at closing time (just intending to check out the building & come back later).  It was clean, bright & cheery, and had a great play area.  The staff I met were awesome.  I also love the Apple Tree that our daughter attends in Urbandale.  Nothing but good things to say about them.

    Congratulations on your new opportunity!
