One day to go!

Longest.Week.Ever (and longest month ever).

Last night I went home and read and relaxed, then did a coupld loads of laundry and cooked some supper while Jeremy was out playing tennis. Watched bits of AI and then Off the Map then got into it royally with Jeremy. Love those nights...

Going to eat lunch with an old guy friend from middle school (what the fight was about) and now Jeremy's coming so whatever. Ready for the weekend so I can plant my flowers and work in the yard this weekend.

  • Friday Eve...yay.

Only working til 2 today and then a doc's appt.  Need to ask about my hands, which hurt like hell 24/7.  Pretty sure this is normal, but makes it very hard to do just about anything.  Only 6 more days of work til mat leave.  Yay.

House smelled awesome last night because of the crock pot cooking all day (need to do that more often!!) but was disappointed how dried out the roast got.  Oh well.  Watched Jeopardy and then snuggled with K until I passed out.  And, K FINALLY dropped of his car to have the interior detailed (summary:  he got uber-sick all over the interior after a Christmas party, cleaned/sanitized/deodorized the car himself, but it is still rank 3 months later & needed to be professionally done).

Hoping to be productive while he's bowling tonight, but it's not looking good so far...

  • YAY for only one more day until Friday!  And my boss will be out of the office for the afternoon at an off-site meeting.  Score!

Last night, I made breakfast for dinner on H's and my new skillet.  I made pancakes, bacon, and eggs (I didn't have an egg - just for H) and liked how everything cooked SO much better!  Skillets are amazing, and I can see myself using it alot more!  I've been doing so well eating I thought I could use a little treat.

Tomorrow night H and I are heading to NY again.  Last time it was for the wedding and it was family, family, family the whole weekend.  This time we're going to hang out with our friends.  I'm meeting my roomie from college for lunch on Saturday.  I haven't seen her since the wedding so I am SO excited to catch up!  Just one more day is in my way!

  • Punxsatawny Phil is a punk a$$ rodent beeotch. It is flipping cold, it was flurrying this morning, and it's March 24. Does not compute, smelly groundhog.

Last night I got off the train to find a huge MFing dent in my car door. As in someone pulled into the spot next to me fast, hit my door, then just took off. I am so pissed. I call the police nearest to the park-n-ride, and ask if they deal with this area. Their answer? "I'm not sure." REALLY? Eff you very much. So I am filing my own accident report with PennDOT today. The dent is quite big too. I wish a pox upon the denter, a raging case of genital warts that also appear on their face, and an awful infestation of bed bugs.

I went to Pets Plus and Sam's, then home to eat, pack lunch and gym bag, change, and off to see MFD play at the Rover. It was good. I hung out with my brother and his friends. I also saw some friends from high school, and my hairdresser brought me some new hair products. Sweet.

I got home at 12:15 and read in bed until 1. Sleepy times today.

If it could just stop raining/sleeting/snowing, that would be really nice. Every day this week. OVER IT.

  • SusieQ-I think your hand issue is your baby affecting your nervous system. I think it is pretty common and pretty sucky!!!!!!

What type of meat did you use in the crock, what did you put in with it and how long was it in there for?

Not funny at all that someone hit your car, but your curses on their house made me giggle.  Thx.

Hand - I've heard carpal tunnel is pretty common in KU'd ladies.  And fluid retention can contribute as well, especially to joint stiffness.  Hence, not worried, just annoyed.  Too much to do in the next few weeks to do it all in pain!

T'was a pork roast in the crock.  Salt, pepper, rosemary & some water to make broth/keep it moist (that worked well).  About 9 hours.  Usually I throw Saurkraut in with it which makes a big difference.  Or else I just make it in the oven & it doens't get all dry.

Oh, Stephanie this made me majorly LOL at my desk.

That suck about the dbag who did that  to your car. I as well hope that they get genital warts everywhere.

  • good morning, girls!  still in boston working, yesterday went great!  day flew by and i cannot believe its already thursday.  i think this month (and week) has flown by.  and i thought i had all this time to relax in april, but gerren and ihave something planned every weekend until may!  yeesh.

stephanie, sorry about the dent in your car--i went to work once in CA and my car was in the (small, private) lot and i came out after work and my bumper had a huge horrible obvious dent in it, like a truck backed into it.

  • I absolutely hate train parking lots, and your case futher proves it Steph. My car looks more & more like a junker everyday with all of it's dings, dents & scratches. It is SO frustrating. I'll never buy a new car again.

Sorry I've been MIA ladies. I was away all weekend, and work has been just insane lately. On the flip side though, I did get a promotion which is gnarly considering a) the pay raise & b) I have never formally been promoted before. It makes things a little bit better, all around.

J also started a new job on the 4th, so I'm very excited for him. And his 16 mile/30 minute roundtrip commute. Which is a sweet change from his 60 mile roundtrip/50 minute commute. Thanks for saving us gas money, hubs!

I can't believe tomorrow we've been married for 6 months. We were just saying at dinner last night that It feels so much longer!

  • I had no idea tomorrow was our sixth month anniversary. Thanks for the reminder! hahaha

Congrats on the promo Stef, great work! And extra pay is the cherry on top. I am jealous of your hubby's reduced commute.

I feel like I should drive MFD's car to the train since it's older, but he drives IN the city every day, so his car has dings and scratches too. You can't win. I think as long as I take the train I should buy used cars and he should buy new since he's a realtor and takes people around in his.

Yes  I'm getting sick and tired of having to gaze longingly at my flip flops every morning as I walk right past them and stuff my feet into my stupid boots and head out for the day.  Where is the frickin' sunshine?!  This weekend is the start of the Cherry Blossom Festival and we don't even have any cherry blossoms!  It's too flippin' cold.

I'm a trainwreck this morning.  Couldn't sleep last night, have ginormous black bags under my eyes, and think I might be brain dead as well.  I'm just praying for this day to be over with quickly.

  • Morning, yeah it's still morning in CA.  I got my highlights done last night.  The last time I had them done was in Aug last year.  So, it's been 7 months, boy were my roots showing.

Today I have an interview for a volunteer position at a local sexual assault and rape crisis center.  I figure since I have my evenings all to myself, I might as well do some volunteer work and make a difference.  I actually think it's the same organization for which I'm doing the 5k in May.  Hmm...what a coincidence.  I'm not looking forward to the drive.  It's in the town next to us but it's a half hour drive.  I used to drive through that town every day on my way to school, so I'm used to the drive.

  • This day is going to be pretty relaxed. I am going to dinner with my mom tonight and thats it.

I took the day off yesterday and went to my dads house while he was at work and rearranged his guest rooms. Something he has been meaning to do for a while now. I had to move a matress set from one room to the other, by myself. I wanted to have it done by the time he got home so he didn't have to do it. Then went to my moms house to let out her dog. And then back to my dads house later that night for dinner and to drag a matress set from down stairs to up stairs, (I needed help for that one) and then made that bed.

I can't believe yall are having snow still. It was 90 here yesterday, no wind so I was sweating like crazy. And then today it's going to be mid 80's. If the temp is already this high now we are going to have a scorching summer, probably another 113 degree summer. Not good!!

  • Hey girlies,

it has indeed been a crazy month.  I've barely had time to get on here.

I did enjoy reading this thread.  The assorted profanities, job promotions and volunteering all made me smile.
