F/U to chiro appt.

Since nota asked, here's my official update after two treatment sessions w/ my chiro, and last night was my first adjustment.

I'm.In.Love!  I honestly cannot believe how much of a difference it has made already.  Had my cat not knocked over my glass of water at 3:30am today, I would've slept through the night.  I never do.  It was such a sound, restful, energizing sleep, too.  This is day two of feeling more like myself again.  I'm not overly exhausted, tired, and I'm already starting to get my energy back.

I know the work is going to take time; they have me down for 3 times a week for 3 months.  They reviewed all of my xrays last night w/ H there and we were completely shocked how effed my neck and spine are.  They do feel that they caught all of the damage in time, so as long as I don't skip anything and do what they tell me to, they are confident that I will be back to 100% in a short time.  I've never felt 100% so I'm very optimistic, hopeful, and excited at how much better I'm going to feel when its all done.  I also got a new pillow from them last night which is kinda hard to get used to, but overall I can def feel a difference in my neck/shoulders, which is where the 2 pinched nerves are.  I'm looking forward to feeling better.

If you're ever on the fence about going to see a chiro, def give it a try.  I have nothing but awesome things to say about the place I'm going.  I've never had an entire office and dr staff be SO genuinely concerned for the well being of their patients.  They are honest, upfront, and sweet.  I'm already looking forward to my next adjustment and treatments tomorrow!

  • Yay!! That was pretty much how I felt too. I'd been in chronic pain for at least 6 months before I finally gave it a try and I wish I'd gone so much sooner. So glad to hear it's helping you!

Can I ask who you're seeing?

  • Glad it's helping!  I've done chiro and physical therapy.  The PT was similar, just not manipulation.  It's something to consider if your insurance won't/stops paying for the chiro (I have limited chiro visits, but as many PT as the doctor thinks I need).  Also, ask them if they think traction or spinal decompression would help.  I've done it for my neck and it really did help!  There are even some affordable at-home units you can buy and use every day.  My shoulders used to be a couple of inches off balance and I didn't have much mobility in my neck.  The traction seemed to help "retrain" everything.  Another thing, accupuncture might be something else to consider to avoid medications or invasive procedures.  I did it for my migraines and while it wasn't so much of an instant pain relief it did help me feel relaxed, sort of like you feel after a good hard workout.  Feel better!

I'm seeing Dr. Paul Baker w/ Baker Chiropractic on Red Bank.  I love him and his entire staff.

I too wish I would've thought enough to consider this a long time ago.  My problems have been most of my life and I seriously thought it was normal over time to feel the way I was.  It had gotten so bad in the past year that I felt like I was 90 years old.  Now I know why.  I know there is still a lot of work ahead of me, and I'm still in the beginning stages, but I never thought I would already be feeling THIS much of a difference.

The fact that since Tuesday I could already start to feel my energy coming back (which I truthfully haven't had for over a year), my mood was significantly better, I slept like a rock last night and actually felt well rested this morning has been a complete 180 for me.  I can't wait to see my xrays in 3 months and how much progress has been made.  I foresee feeling like a completely different woman; one that I've always wanted to feel like, but never could.  Big Smile

I'm getting a whole host of stuff from them, and some of it is deep tissue massage, traction, ems and some exercises, etc.  They took all the leg work out of the insurance checking for me, which was super nice.  They detailed it all out as far as what the ins will cover, what I would need to pay out of pocket, etc. and I was surprised that once my ins is done paying, they are only $5 more per session out of pocket.  I'm def excited to feel better!
