I just got the Baby Bargains 2011 edition-- I looked up RH's furniture and it gives it a C rating. The furniture is made by Bassett and is sold in other stores as well-- just a different design I think for RH and higher priced.

Let me know if you want to look at the book at any point.

Re: * camedowncrushing *

  • Thanks Mesa!  I have an older version of the Baby Bargains book with no mention of RH.  I think H and I are going to go look at furniture soon.  I want to look at Jordans because friends of ours got their nursery furniture there, and it was made in the US.  I am still undecided about how I feel about spending more vs less.  I would like ideally to have a set that lasts so I could use it for all future children, but spending so much money on a nursery set....I don't know.  Have you guys found anything yet?
  • I've just been price shopping online to see comparisons. I am hoping we stumble upon an incredible deal or someone has a barely used (or never used) crib to sell to us. My goal is to get the rest of the furniture we need and refinish it (well, FIL can refinish it... he is retired and has time!)
  • DH had originally said he would build me the crib I want.  Now after looking at all the projects we need to get done before the baby gets here it makes me nervous.
  • That would have been awesome-- I guess I could have asked my uncle to make a crib this summer but he's kind of an ornary man so I hate asking him! DH isn't home enough to finish one project (let's say our basement floor... which is now unfinished after 2 yrs), let alone refinish anything. We are going to have to hire someone to do some of the minor things we have just so we can get them done.

Oh, and I finally got a chance to email you the other day! Sorry it took so long!
