I have a friend who's about 32 weeks pregnant. I mentioned to DH last week that I thought it was strange that I haven't heard anything yet about a shower for her, so he offered to ask her H about it (since maybe she just didn't invite me...that would be awkward!).
Well, we went to their house Saturday night to play games with them and another couple we're friends with. The other girl just point-blank asked her at the end of the night..."Is anyone throwing you a shower?" She said no! I'm floored...she has at least two sisters in town, as well as good friends she's known since college, and she didn't grow up all that far away from here...and no one had offered to throw a shower.
Anyways...so my friend said that she'd love to do it, and I jumped in and said I'd be happy to help. The girl is due May 11th, so we have to do this before Easter. I sent out two possible dates, and we're having this thing on April 10th...that's less than 3 weeks away!
And she sent me the guest list last night. There are 40 women on there! So...since these invites need to go in the mail ASAP...any suggestions for places to go to buy relatively inexpensive, "fill in the blank" invites?

Re: Oh boy...what have I gotten myself into?

Lauren's blog has a super cute tutorial on a fringed garland you could make too.
That's so sad no one has thrown her a shower yet, and so nice of you guys to do that for her! Have fun planning and partying
I've seen some cute ones at Target and I belive Walmart.
I think I have some things Stephanie sent me for showers and I'll find them at home tonight and send to you. I believe they are some games but it might give you an idea.
Also remember Dollar Tree is your friend if you have one close by. You can get cute plates, napkins, plasticware, table clothes, and ours have some decorations.
They're not finding out the gender....so we're going neutral for everything!

Yeah, that's what I suggested to her, but she said that she doesn't have email addresses for everyone. Oh well.
I got the invites last night, and I'm going to my friend's house tonight so we can fill them out together and brainstorm more ideas.
