I'm baaaaack

Hola ladies,

I have been suffering from the flu since Sunday afternoon and today is my first day back at work (however, honestly, I still feel so out of that I don't know if I should really be here).  I felt like crap on Sunday night out of nowhere and didn't move from bed on Monday.  DH came home from work and had looked up a ready-med place to take me too (I don't have a general doctor here yet).  Dr. (actually nurse practicioner) said that with the start of it coming so quickly and my symptoms that he thought it was the flu.  I guess there's a late season flu-outbreak/alert in IL and I was hit.

Anywho, I have to give snaps (lol, I watched Clueless on Monday) to DH for being so awesome.  He took me to the ready-med, then ran into the grocery store for Gaterade, soup, and OJ.  He surprised me with sherbet and said he used to eat it when he was sick and it should help me throat. The past couple nights we decided he should sleep in the guest bed b/c the dr. said to "quaratine" (sp) myself, which was super weird.  He made me dinner every ngiht too. Such a great guy!

Now I'm just praying to get through the next two days so I can rest up all weekend. I'll take some T&P that I start to feel 100%.  Right now I'd say I'm at 60%. My head is spinning and I'm still coughing/snifflying like  mad.

Thanks for thinking of me!

Oh yea, and I'm trying to catch up on work, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around

haha.  He loved it, he was my nap-buddy.  He seemed bummed and so confused when I actually woke up this morning.

  • Awww I'm glad he took good care of you! I think it speaks volumes how a significant other acts with their loved one is sick :)

This made me laugh because Chris and I avoid each other like the plague when we are sick.  I mean, we'll go get soup, medicine, Gatorade, etc., for the sick one, but we kind of leave it outside of the room the other has quarantined themself in.

I came down with a miserable stomach bug in January (that five other people got from the same event I did!) and since we knew how contagious it was, he stayed in the study/guest room, and I stayed in the living room/our bedroom.  We mostly communicated via text/phone call - haha!  He also came home with a can of Lysol and used about half of it that week.  He never got sick!

The following week, he came down with a regular flu, and we did basically the same thing, but reverse roles, and I never got that.

Hannah - I'm glad you're back and feeling at least 60% better.  Fingers are crossed that it's all uphill from here!!!

That's cute, though! I mean, you still take care of each other while avoiding getting the other one sick :)
