Baby Formula stains on clothes

Just did a load of my baby girls laundry - formula stains are still on her clothes, one of the outfits had a poop stain too - due to leaky diaper.

any type of detergent/cleaner/technique that will help get rid of formula stains/poop stains?

also what if its on her white onesies..

help!!

Re: Baby Formula stains on clothes

  • I only use All Free & Clear (or the All baby but it works the same) and vinegar on DD's clothes. The poop, puke, food, etc. stains have always come out. Even if they sit for a little while.
  • We use dreft, now im wondering if i should switch..

  • What kinda of water do you have? We have hard well water, so I thought I'd have problems with stains. Unless your baby is really sensitive, I'd switch. DD has sensitive skin, but she's fine using Free & Clear or All Baby. It's definitely much cheaper than Dreft.
  • I use store brand dreft and just soak his clothes and blankets overnight.  So far it's gotten out everything but one incident of poop that my husband failed to point out to me.  I soaked that outfit in oxygen bleach overnight and the stain disappeared.

  • formula is a base, so you need something with a more acidic pH to get it out. try making a paste of baking soda and water and rub it over the stain, let it sit for a few minutes and then pour some vinegar over it. rub it in a little and the stain should come out...if that doesn't work, you can try soaking it in a baking soda/vinegar/water solution.

as far as the poop goes...you're on your own with that one! lol

  • If Clorox 2 doesn't work, nothing else will... I never found anything that gets those stains out (although breastmilk stains were the ultimate worst IMO).

  • Have you tried peroxide (I know it works wonderfully on blood stains, haven't tried it on baby stains)  on fresh stains ? or Nature's Miracle?  Then washing?

    Cancer sucks.
  • i just posted this on another one above, but in my experience, fels naptha gets EVERYTHING out.  (definitely baby formula...no experience with the poop, but i think it might work.)
