Looking for a job while the kids are at home?
Is anyone else a SAHM who is looking for work? I've been a SAHM for the past year while looking for work and it's really hard to get anything done, let alone be professional and go out to temp companies, etc. How do you do it? Do you pay for daycare while you're looking for work?

Make it a habit to not answer your phone when you receive calls from numbers you do not recognize. That way potential employers have to leave you a message. This will give you the opportunity to get your kids situated when you call companies back and get into a professional state of mine.
Find backup daycare options so that you can go out on interviews when needed. (We have a few options for drop in daycare around here. Find a good company or make a list of friends and check them out before you need them.)
Check out daycares for when you do find a job. The best centers in my area have a 1+ year waiting list. If you can swing the cost I would go ahead and put them in.
Apply for jobs after they go to bed.
