T&Ps Please

I rarely do this, but this is really needed. A girl that graduated from our high school a few years after me was in Colorado on Spring Break. Tuesday, she was in a very serious skiing accident and suffered severe brain trama. Yesterday, they decided that it was not going to get any better, and took her off life support. She was only 21, was amazingly beautiful, healthy and sweet. She has an older sister and a younger brother (that is still in high school). To make matters worse, she was with her two absolute best friends from high school, and they both had to be witness to this entire ordeal. Like, unseperable best friends. We are a community of only 800 people, so we all know each other very well, and this hits very close to home as she was in the same grade as Jeff's little sister.

Her parents were able to make the most selfless and beautiful decision to donate all of her organs. I hope it gives them slight peace knowing that many other lives will be saved thanks to their decision.

Please send out some prayers for her family and friends.

They will be in my thoughts. So so so sad

  • So incredibly sad but such an amazing and selfless act to donate her organs. She will be able to live on in so many people!

  • Prayers lifted up. How very generous that her parents made the decision to save others lives through their loss.

  • How very, very tragic...I am so sorry to hear about this. It is always so much harder to take sometimes when it's a young person. I'd like to believe that while she was on loan to her family and all who knew her for a little while, that whatever joy and blessings she was meant to bring and share will be remembered and enjoyed forever, as she will live on in your hearts (and also in those who may receive her gift of life through organ donation). Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today.

  • Oh, my gosh.  I'm so sorry to hear of this - so young and such an awful tragedy.  Lots of T&P to everyone who knew and loved her, and to those people who will be getting a second chance with the generous donation of her organs.  She will live on in them forever.

  • The family has to be devastated!  Many thoughts and prayers go out to them.  But through their kindness and selflessness so many people will no longer struggle.

  • Many thoughts and prayers to you, her family and your community! That is so awful and I understand the impact as I grew up in a close community as well. That is generous of her parents to donate her organs so others will have a second chance. I hope all hearts heal quickly.
