I don't think I can be friends with some of you guys anymore...

How can you not like (*ahem* love) Friends??!!!!!

Re: I don't think I can be friends with some of you guys anymore...

  • It's not that I didn't like it, I just never caught it from the beginning and couldn't follow the plot line (if there was one). I'm kind of eh about shows that I don't watch from the beginning because of that reason.
  • I'm in the same boat as Klassy. I was pretty young when it first came on. So it probably wasn't eve on my radar until maybe the 3rd or 4th year it aired. Also it was one pre DVR era. All through middle school and high I had horses. So EVERY evening was spent doing homework in the car, cleaning stalls, riding, eating in the car and then going to bed. Not much prime time telly going on in my house back then.

  • Sorry NOLA, I only saw one episode and have never been enticed enough by ads to actually watch more.  lol.  I don't even have the excuse of being young when it was airing.  Well, maybe the fact that I was away in high school is an excuse, but I know my classmates watched it religiously there too.

  • Seriously! FRIENDS was such a major part of my growing up. Maybe that's sad, but it's true!

  • I didn't even know people were out there who have never watched it or don't like it!!  Ya'll need to go rent the entire series, watch it, and then tell us what you think!

It's seriously great!  sooo many great lines!

Exactly! I was young when it started, too, but my mom watched it and I watched with her. It was so sad for me when high school was coming to an end for me at the same time that Friends was ending. It was for real the end of an era. Lol
  • I watched it at the begging and liked it enough, but it got Meh.  Plus then I graduated HS and had no time for T.V.  I was way too busy in college, working full time and partying like crazy.
  • I liked it, but I didn't like LOOOVEEE it. It was funny, but I don't have strong feelings about it.

Awwww man way to throw me under the bus!! NOT NICE!! Stick out tongue

Seriously though I think I was probably in Elementary school  when it started and uh... I had an 8pm bed time (gosh I feel so lame admitting this) up until 9th grade. At that point it was extended to 9:30.

You'd be aghast at the TV shows I've never watched 90210, Mel Roses, Dawson Creek, Baywatch, oh I am sure there are so many more.

Me too! I had a band concert that night and had to record it on VHS so I could watch when I got home. We had a "veiwing" It was soooo sad for me.

Remember when Rachel moved out and they said it was the end of an era?

  • i loved friends. it started in college for me and went into after college. i could relate to what they were going through. they were young professionals when i was a young professional. and the ross and rachel storyline was awesome. when they finally got together (remember the aquarium when he rolled over the juice box?) and "we were on a break!" so many memories...
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • I love Friends. I was pretty young when it started but I watched it when I could later in high school...then in college one of my roommates was obsessed and loaned me her DVDs and I caught a lot of episodes I had never seen. I now have all 10 seasons on DVD and for the rest of college that is what DH and I would watch; I didn't have cable/broadcast TV at our apartment so we'd just put in old Friends DVDs and watch them or have them on in the background...Pretty sure there's not one I haven't seen. LOVE.

Okay, this I actually do remember - the juice box thing. This is the first thing yall have mentioned that I remember. I have no idea how old I was when Friends were on.

    Ditto.

If it was on and I was bored, maybe I'd watch.  I didn't make a point of watching new episodes or religiously watching repeats or anything like that.  It was just never my favorite show.

I watched the first 4 seasons when, at a sleepover, they decided to have a marathon. 6 episodes in, I was bored, 2 seasons in, I wish I had illegal drugs, by the end of the 4th, I was attempting to chew through my own wrists. I seriously didn't like it at all. I do remembering laughing at one scene that wasn't supposed to be funny, and was scolded because it was "serious"
