Ok, I'm determined to figure out how to be a SAHM or at least make it work part-time. I have just bought a ton of books on Amazon on coupons, cutting bills in half, making cheap healthy meals etc. I think I'm also going to start a blog documenting my journey to making it work!
Re: Determined
That's awesome! I enjoy finding deals at the grocery, it's a thrill for me haha
I stock up on really good deals, and have a closet I keep the abundance of food in that we have multiples of (mostly canned goods). Check on your local board to see if anyone has a coupon blog suited to your area.
Do you have a deep freezer? That could help you too, when you find things on sale for cheap.
As for a blog, have fun with it! You could easily make money from that too.
What's going on at work...or have I missed that?
Not much this week - boss was gone and returned today. Waiting on her to approach me so I can tell her how I feel.
She did just hire someone for the other job though and was concerned about their commute time - 45 mins each way. I told her that I now have an hour commute each way because of Lucie and she told me if she were me she would quit (she has a 3 minute commute). I almost told her I was planning on it!
Oh wow, a hour each way? I cant believe she made that comment to you
So, are you going to quit, and do the elance stuff instead?
that's great! you can save so much when you pay special attention to where each cent goes. next time, check out all those books from your local library for free
haha
there's lots of great money saving/frugal living blogs out there too. I really like

do you guys have a written budget? dh has an excel sheet that shows different scenarios. our household w/ my income and without... we're able to manipulate our individual budgets in different areas (like groceries, entertainment, etc) to see where we can cut to make one income work. It's nice b/c it gives you a specific goal for each category, shows exactly where you can cut back and what's possible.
good luck! I know you can make it happen!!
Lol, I realized that about the books after I bought them.... I could cancel the order, it hasn't shipped yet!!
Yes, we have a written budget.
