I have researched them both so I have a pretty good idea of the differences. I just do not know many people IRL that have one...most are still buying books. I am going on vacation in about a month sans kids (WAHOOO) to the Carribean. Last time I brought 5books and had them read in 4 days. I LOVE the idea of not having to lug them with me. Thanks!!!
Re: Kindle vs Nook
I have a kindle and I love it! I thought it would be weird reading off a screen at first but it's not at all.
I was worried about breaking it so I bought a case which I would recommend. I did hear that the cases with the clips can crack the kindle so I bought one with pockets instead. I got my kindle right before the new one came out so I didn't have as many options but I bought this one in pink.

I highly recommend it. It's compatible with their light too which I also have.
If you have any other questions let me know.

another kindle fan here. i can't speak to the nook but i like that the kindle screen looks very much like the page of a book - no glare or backlight. books are now "lendable" on amazon but i think you can only lend them once or for a limited period of time. there's also a pretty good selection of free books on amazon.
