Lol, DH and I woke up briefly at 4am because Oscar was whining and he sang this stupid song and now it's in my head. Have you seen/heard it? And what are you plans for this wknd?

LOL I actually heard that song on the news this morning...yes, that is what the nations capital #1 news channel was talking about this morning. Not Libya, not Japan, not the series of murders that just took place, but that song
Anyways, we don't really have many plans this weekend. My Mom is refinishing a dresser for us and I have all the ugly brass hardware that I plan to spray paint, but it just depends on if the weather is nice enough to do it outside this weekend. The other day it was 80 here and this morning it was 25...Mother Nature needs to get over herself. On Sunday we're going over to my Dad's to hang out and have dinner, but that's about it. I fully intend to stay in my pajamas as much as possible this weekend.

We have to go to the old house tomorrow and empty the last remaining items from the garage and do the cleaning.
Sunday is a trip to IKEA to spend massive amounts of money and then home to put it all together.

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermThis wknd I'm not sure if I'll be up for anything. I'll definitely watch Marquette (did I ever mention that's where I went to university?) play bball tonight (6:15 CT)...although it will most likely be horrific. Tomrw we have 4 free passes for a tour of a local brewery (that DH signed up for legitimately 6 months ago, it's so popular). So I really want to go, but think that day-drinking and covering from flu is not the smartest idea. There's also a local Nestie brunch on Sunday that I'm hoping to feel like going to. It's all up in the air.

Hannah- You need to take the weekend to rest and get back to 100%!
I am throwing my sister's baby shower tomorrow afternoon. I hope it goes okay. Usually whenever I try to throw a party my older sister takes over (she even did for her own baby shower) she stepped back on this one so its all on me. At the very least I hope my baby sister gets lots of good gifts and everything she needs for baby Ian (ETA: 4 weeks from tomorrow!!!). So we are setting some stuff up tonight and I have some food to make and a majority of the day tomorrow will be dedicated to that. Sunday I may be going to a hockey game. DH's uncle won some tickets and an arena tour and invited us, but DH works for the team, so its not anything we haven't done before so I'll go if no one else wants the last ticket.
I am super excited about this Friday because today is the last day of the third quarter of school!!!! Only 9 more weeks until summer break!!!!
ETA: That Friday song is like superglue. It gets stuck in your head and there is no getting it out....it is a ridiculous song.
Tomorrow morning we are going to look at a stroller that someone is selling...I typically wouldn't want to buy one used, but I am in love with this stroller, she said it's in excellent condition, and she's selling it for basically half of what sells for new. So I am SUPER excited about that...fingers crossed it works out!
Then I am going to a baby shower for a friend of mine, and we are having friends over tomorrow night for dinner. One of the couples is doing the South Beach diet, so I'm not sure what I will/can cook.
Sunday is wide open, and I kind of intend to keep it that way!

Good luck! Be sure to have lots of wine/beer/hard alcohol on hand, and make sure you promise not to hold whatever gets yelled in the middle of assembly against each other.
Tonight, Alan is meeting me at work, then we're grabbing dinner and heading to the Sarah Vowell lecture. Tomorrow, I think we're going to catch a movie in the afternoon and grab an early dinner. And on Sunday, I plan on sitting my fat arse on the couch and not moving.
We have a big list...shelves, cushions, coffee table, TV stand.... It's nice to actually have room that we have to fill up now, rather than too much stuff for the space we have!

No games for the shower, but I will be having the guests write a card to the parents or the baby. The card can contain advice or words of love and encouragement, but for specific moments. Like someone could offer advice on potty training or tips on surviving the first few weeks of sleepless nights, then my sister and her husband can save the cards and open them on those occasions. We'll see how it works out. I just want to get it over with, our entire basement refrigerator is filled with nothing but food and drinks for this shower!
nfp- So jealous of your Ikea trip! I need a room to redecorate so we have a reason to take a trip there.

This weekend is all about birthdays. Tonight I am going to a friend's birthday party at a local Mexican restaurant. Margaritas, yay! I'm also making a quick 2-day trip this weekend down to TX for my sister's 40th birthday party. My sister who lives in California is going to be there too, so it will be some good family time.
Thanks! It's the Bumbleride Flyer - I had posted how I fell in love with the Bumbleride Indie, but the more I look, the more practical this seems for us since we don't jog or anything.
And I love that I can reverse the handle so that he can face me and we can talk, especially since we plan to mostly wear him when he's little, so it will be sad to not have him close enough to chat with anymore:

Oh, yeah, that's the other thing - there's about a $100 difference between them (Indie is more). And if this one works out - it's like a $250 difference.
Plus, the Indie's handle doesn't reverse...and I love that feature!

nfp: have fun at Ikea... we got out entertainment center there last month, and Steve swears that he will never go back! I love it but he was frustrated by the amount of people there. A lot of them were foreign and very rude, bumping into people, etc.
This weekend, we don't really have anything planned... If it does not rain tomorrow, I would like to get started on painting the brass King size bed that Steve's grandmother gifted to us.
Sunday we have game night at our small group. I have to make cupcakes to take for dessert. I hope we play a trivia game, because I am a trivia master! Last game night we played trivial pursuit, girls against guys (there are 5 couples) and I answered all of the girl's questions and they were quite impressed. Did I mention that the other 4 girls are all teachers?? lol
Oh, and I need to make some more dog treats this weekend at some point too.
Megan, have you ever painted brass before? I'm going to paint these brass nobs/handles for a dresser sometime soon and am not really sure what to do. I googled and some sites said to wash them (did that already) and then sand them, other sites said to just wash them. Some sites said to use primer first and other ones said it doesn't make a difference. If you have done it before, any tips? Or what is your plan of action?
This weekend we have some plans again that Include DRIVING all over the freaking place. But First Today is my LAST day at the stinking Job at the Dry cleaner I'm SOOO HAPPY!!!! and then I start my new job On Tuesday!
Back to the weekend tho! My dad and step-mom are coming up tonight to stay over so Saturday we can get up early and head to the Renaissance Festival! I love going every year! I can get my Turkey leg and beer Fix!! + to my parents coming, my dad was cleaning out the shed and found some things hes bring up to me (I'm hoping its some of my moms things!) and my step mom got my purse and stuff that I just ordered from her party!
Then after we come home from that, we either will stay home that night or drive down to our hometown (about 45 min or so away) to see his parents and stay the night there, or get up early again and go Sunday am. I get to go see my little niece Sydney!! shes such a cute little thing!!! I'll have to remember to take photos of both trips planned and post them!!!
Now I have that horrible song stuck in my head. My friend did however find a death metal version of the song which is hilaaaaaaarious. So I guess it's okay.
Tonight-Not much going on. Spending some quality time with DH.
Saturday- We have a poker tournament which will be awesome. And we will be visiting some friends.
Sunday- I'm meeting up with my friend so we can discuss "dolphins"....
SHOULD be a good time.
Tonight is out for Mexican for dinner (no meat! lol) and then a movie
Tomorrow morning we get out WEDDING ALBUM and both our PARENT ALBUMS!!!!! I'm MORE than excited about this!!!
Tomorrow night is out to dinner in Philly for my girlfriends birthday. Girls night!
Sunday I have a baby shower for my cuz who knocked up his exgirlfriend.. sweet, huh?
