Car accident :(
Ugh. I normally commute via bus as most of you know, but today DH had to go to the airport so I dropped him off and of course on the one day I'm driving I end up in a 4-car pileup on the Pike on the way home 
Luckily no one was hurt. The first guy who slammed on his brakes (let's call him car 0) apparently just had a scratch so he took off. I was car 4 so it's not like I got his plates or anything. The guy in front of me (car 3) was really nice and basically said it was his fault I was involved in the accident at all because he didn't stop fast enough and actually pushed the girl in front of him (car 2) into car 1. But I'll probably still get cited since they don't usually care in rear-end accidents and will blame me even though I wasn't speeding or tailgating; it just all happened too fast to be prevented.
*sigh*
And my poor car I hope it doesn't have to be totaled.
And to top it all off, the Nest ate my post and I had to retype all of this. Did I piss the Karma gods off somehow???

So sorry Rock! That sucks but I'm glad that it sounds like everyone was okay. Hopefully the car will be fixable and the Karma Gods smile upon you!

The plus side of totaling your car is you can get an upgrade
You know what I drive--I have no need to upgrade any more and I was planning on driving that sucker into the ground! If it is totaled, I don't think I'll be able to get something comparable with whatever insurance gives me. Oh well, I guess.
Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. I know that in the big picture the fact that no one was hurt is what's important and that it's just a car. But you know how it is--still ugh.
Ugh I'm sorry. It sucks too that your H is out of town. I totalled my car in an accident a few years ago and I was an emotional wreck afterward. I'm glad you're safe and I hope everything works out okay for you.
